Titan Series - Prime Bond MVS 100% Solids Primer (3 Gal. Kit)
SKU: TSPBMVS-3
Description
PRIME BOND MVS
Moisture Vapor Suppression Epoxy Primer 2:1 / 3-gallon kit
Product Overview
Prime Bond MVS is a state-of-the-art, moisture vapor suppression (MVS) epoxy primer designed to combat excessive moisture in concrete floors.
Formulated with a modified epoxy backbone, it delivers deep penetration, superior alkali resistance, and tenacious adhesion. When properly
installed, Prime Bond MVS can reduce moisture vapor emission rates to 0.1 perms or less, creating a reliable barrier that allows for the successful
application of non-permeable floor coatings and finishes.
Uses & Benefits
Prime Bond MVS creates a strong, moisture-resistant foundation that protects your coatings from failure, enhances adhesion, and extends the life
of your floor system.
Key Features
• Ideal when concrete testing (ASTM F2170) shows RH readings between 75% and 99%
• Provides an added layer of moisture protection for challenging concrete conditions
• Can be applied clear or pigmented directly to properly prepared concrete
• Compatible with surfaces prepared to ICRI CSP 2 with a surface energy > 45 dyne/cm
• For unverified surface energy, shot blasting to ICRI CSP 3 is recommended to ensure proper wetting and adhesion
Limitations
Prime Bond MVS is designed to be applied at a thickness of 16 mils for a single coat or two 10 mil applications. The ideal application temperature ranges between 60-85°F. Cooler temperatures will increase curing times, while warmer temperatures will decrease both working and curing times. Ensure that the substrate temperature is at least 5 degrees above the dew point during application and curing to avoid potential amine blush.
Mixing & Installation
Combine all of part A and B into a single container, large enough to accept the entire kit. Mix at 350 RPM for 3-4 minutes using an appropriate mixing blade and making sure not to introduce excessive air into the solution. Pour the entire content from the container onto the floor and follow normal squeegee and back roll or cut and roller techniques. Successful material performance requires a monolithic, pinhole-free finish. Achieving this finish is dependent on the substrate condition and the installers skill lever. While independent testing shows one, 16 mil application performs at a perm rate of .052/.068*, it is best, when performance is most critical, to apply in two, 10 mil applications and to test for holidays using a high voltage holiday detector. Recoat within 24 hours. Clean tools with a solvent similar to Xylene or Acetone.
CTI Titan Series Universal Color Packs for 2.5 and 3 Gallon Kits can be used to pigment the clear
Application Thickness in Mils
16 mils (100 sqft) in one coat or two 10 mil (175 sqft) applications.
